Bullet Journal

A beautiful year-at-a-glance habit tracker. Each day is a square, each habit is a color — like painting your year.

Introduction

Bullet Journal turns your new tab page into a living year-at-a-glance habit tracker — like a GitHub contribution graph, but painted with your daily habits.

How It Works

Each day of the year is a small block on the grid. Every block is divided into segments — one per habit you track. At the end of the day, open the popup, tick off your habits, and watch your grid grow.

Features
  • Year / Month / Week views: Switch between a full 12-month calendar, a focused single-month view, and a detailed week view.
  • Up to 4 habits: Track between 1 and 4 habits simultaneously. Each habit gets its own colour and its own segment of the day block.
  • Full colour customisation: Pick any colour from the full spectrum for each habit. Choose from earthy presets or enter a hex code directly.
  • Block shape: Square or Circle: Prefer circular day dots? Toggle between square and circle blocks in Settings.
  • Three split styles: Choose how your day blocks are divided when tracking multiple habits: Straight, Diagonal, or Horizontal.
  • Habit statistics: See how many days you tracked each habit in the current period — with a colour-coded progress bar.
  • Custom backgrounds: Choose from warm gradient presets, solid colours, or dial in a custom dim & blur overlay.
  • 100% local, 100% private: All data is stored in your browser using chrome.storage.local. Nothing is sent to any server.
  • Export & Import: Back up your entire habit history as a JSON file and restore it on any Chrome browser.
Getting Started

  4. Open Settings (top-right of the new tab) to add habits, pick colours, and customise your layout.
Privacy

Bullet Journal requests only the "storage" permission to save your habit data locally. No browsing history, no network access, no analytics. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
